I’ve always loved the deep meanings connected to flowers. Here, in this piece I wanted to reflect on hope and love, a symbol of the Hawthorne flower or tree. Celtic lore also calls it the fairy tree with ties to protection. There are literally more than 1000 species of Hawthorne and they can vary widely in appearence. The ones I’ve chosen for this piece reminded me of spring and new life. Set against a dark background, I wanted the light to shine brightly on the soft white blossoms. This piece is so important to me. It's the painting that, through the process of creating it stretched me as an artist and made me want to create full time.

There were probably at least 5 reference photos and knew I wanted to create a contemporary+realistic mountain scene. Completely drawn to some videos I'd seen of frozen arctic mountain ranges in Alaska I decided to sketch out my scene, being careful to allow the negative spaces here to dominate.

I named it "Alaska from Above". the original is a sizable 30×40 piece mostly painted with palette knives. All originals are signed and come with a certificate of authenticity.

This piece was painted outdoors and live at a few events! I used my hands to paint the clouds, and it has lots of thick texture and was painted mostly with palette knives. Approximately 2 months in the making, I drew my inspiration for this painting from otherworldly mountain ranges in Norway and particularly Mt Stetind for it’s crazy chiseled top and almost unbelievable sheer tower like appearence. I chose to create it with a modern white minimal vibe to let the texture and crazy stature of this iconic mountian speak. All originals are signed and come with a certificate of authenticity.
