Caribbean Ocean

When I first saw just how clear and brightly colored the water in the Caribbean was I couldn't believe it. We took a trip to USVI and the British Virgin Islands and I snorkeled for the very first time in my life. What a place to experience it! I didn't grow up close to the ocean or knowing how to swim so as an adult these things became bucket list accomplishments. I have several planned Caribbean destinations in mind, and so I wanted to paint my memories of this beautiful part of the world. My aim was to capture all the vivid blues these islands are known for and to stir your own memories of ocean travel. I love listening to the ocean, so as I was drawing up this design I included waves that wrap around the canvas adding a touch of that 3D vibe to the finished painting. This original piece is 20x30 oil on gallery wrapped canvas and took me more than a month to complete and what felt like a year to finally dry! Each of my original paintings comes with a certificate of authenticity and my signature.
