Titled "Serenity" this painting came from my travels to hawaii. I fell in love with the insanely gorgeous sunsets in Kailua Kona Hawaii when we visited the Big Island. 
Before I went to full time creating art in 2021, I'd been painting part time for 10 years.  My husband and I also ran a wedding photography business together. We had booked a destination wedding in Hawaii and I was so excited to visit! We stayed a few extra days to make a vacation out of it and crossed off some big bucket list items like hiking Waipio valley, swimming with manta rays at night and visiting all the coffee farms!
I promised myself that I would begin painting the ocean after that visit, and this sunset painting was my second ocean scene. I really wanted to do a large piece with vivid color and depth that portrayed the emotions and beauty of my sunset experiences.  Oil on canvas, the original piece is 30x40 on gallery wrapped canvas.
