Titled "Forest Stream", the original painting is a 18x24in on gallery wrapped canvas. I was inspired by these hikes we would go on as a family near Cascade Co. There are some lovely views and a little waterfall along the trail up to several different mountain reservoirs in the national forest. At one point, you can cross the waterfall on stepping stones and the whole scene is peaceful and lovely.

This piece was my very first oil painting. I have spent nearly 2 decades and my 4 years in college working with acrylics. But! I'd always wanted to use oils. Not having a studio at the time, I was concerned about how to create proper ventilation and keep my beloved pets and kids out of the paint as it dried. Fast forward to 2021 and I finally had my own studio space. I fell in love the minute I saw the soft blending that oils are so loved for, and really enjoyed the ability to work for several days without the paint drying. It fit my needs as an artist in this season of life. To be able to have 2-3 hrs a day in the studio and come back tomorrow was heaven.
